Delivering quality education over 40+ years
Madina is one of the popular communities in Accra with a very high population of Muslim settlers. Characteristically, it is a deprived Islamic community noted for lacking many Islamic related investments and institutions, including educational institutions. As part of its contribution to bridge the gap, and contribute towards the future development of the community, the Ghana Society for Islamic Education and Reformation (G.S.I.E.R) put resources together towards the establishment of Madina Islamic School (M.I.S.), in 1982. Since then, MIS has been in operation educating hundreds of learners every year.
MIS is one of the private schools in Madina, registered by the Ghana Education Service (GES), to provide quality and affordable education to the people of Madina and its immediate environs. The school runs and implements the Ghanaian curriculum as approved by the Ministry of Education and Ghana Education Service. In addition, and being an Islamic School, there is a blend of Islamic Studies curriculum to provide our young learners with the opportunity to have early knowledge of basic relevant Islamic principles, and a strong foundation for future studies in Islamic Religious Studies.
Further, the school has seen the need to introduce the students to skills training as part of efforts to adequately equip them to fight poverty during their adult lives. As such, the school has also introduced practical entrepreneurship and skills training as part of its hybrid curriculum.

Our philosophy of education is one that seeks to as much as possible provide adequate and comprehensive needs of learners of today, in meeting the challenges of tomorrow. It is a philosophy that is anchored on Islamic culture and acceptable human values of discipline, fellow-feeling, humanitarianism and good citizenship. Our philosophy is anchored on the creation of safe and friendly learning environment that focuses on developing the qualities of self-esteem in our learners, unraveling their creativity and critical thinking capabilities. These and more, are expected to contribute towards their all-round development and transformation into responsible future global leaders.
